The Magazine

When I first arrived in NZ over 40 years ago, the NZ bridge magazine was in its infancy. I brought with me lots of old copies of the British magazine, and lent them to my partner. A couple of months later I requested them back, and his wife said she had thrown them out. When asked why, she said, "You had already read them!"

At the time, and for years later, this struck me as quite amusing. However after moving recently, and seen my collection of British, NZ, Australian and others, collected over 50 years, locked up in never to be opened crates, I have begun to agree with her. How often do we in fact look at them after the first week or so?  Newspapers are thrown out the next day, you wouldn't do that with your bridge magazine, but how long do you, (did you), keep them? Interested in your comments.
