Club Happenings Around the Country

Taradale Bridge Club.

This Hawke’s Bay club has its share of problems of late. Before Covid 19 reared its oh so unpleasant head, the Club was asked to find new premises and is, or was, temporarily operating out of the Napier Bridge Club until new premises could be found. Now, the current lockdown has prevented their application to Council for a new building being heard. “Rome” and Taradale Bridge Club were “not built in a day!”

That does not, however, mean inaction. Over to Committee Member and Newsletter Editor,Ash Fitchett, to tell you what is happening.  “We normally send out a newsletter each month. However, we have upped out frequency during Level 4 isolation. Learners who have not yet joined the club are also being included.

Please click here to see the first two newsletters: pdf Taradale Newsletter 1.pdf (0.21MB) for newsletter 1

We have received nice feedback from members as well as contributions for our weekly humour section!  Next week we have organised a contribution about a member’s experiences in doing the Otago Rail Trail.  We are also phoning up members who we know are in isolation alone."

Ash, with a nice smile on his face

A nice mixture of relevant news, bridge opportunities and some humour to make the members smile. Keep them coming, Ash. I am sure your members are enjoying receiving the newsletters and are appreciating the effort the Club is making to stay in touch with its members.
