The TOPS Lockdown Teams event kicked off yesterday.  There are 77 teams competing in 11 grades with seven teams in each grade.  The full range of ability and experience is on show.  The A Grade includes many of New Zealand’s top players while the K Grade, at the other end of the scale, features many players who have only learnt the game this year.

The prizes in this event are sponsored by Scarlett and Co from Westport.  Participants are encouraged to donate $20 to the TOPS region.  At least half the funds raised will go to the Westport Bridge Club flood relief fund to support bridge players affected by the recent Buller flooding disaster.

Results will be reported on the NZ Bridge Facebook page. Online Kibbitzing is encouraged in this competition.  There will be a schedule of forthcoming matches on the Facebook page.
