Transferring players to a new club

We realised after the fact, that many clubs have a constitutional requirement for new members to be nominated and approved before being accepted as a members.

The solution we have come up with, is to automatically give a transferring player the status of "Temporary" for that new club. Making a player "Temporary" in the transferring process means they are not deemed an active member of the new club, nor do no incur a levy and, unless still a member elsewhere, cannot earn masterpoints.  This automation process is on the to do list and will be done as soon as possble, but in the meantime, a club transferring a player can change their status to "Tempory" while in the editing screen assigning them to a new club.

The transferring system has the advantage for notifying clubs of potential new members.  In many cases, clubs will get to know about them anyway, but this is a nice early notification.  If the player does not contact the club or turn up, the club can start making some enquires.  Some clubs may not want to do this, but they do not have to.  A follow up could be by either contacting their previous club (which is known to them) or someone who may know the player.

?We hope many clubs would welcome this innovation, but if a club is strongly opposed to having such players on their player list as Temporary, they can place the player in the Archive "club" immediately they receive the email notifying of the transfer.  This will remove them from the club's membership list completely until such time they are approved via the club's normal process.   The player can be reinstated and given the status of "Active" once that happens.

I would hope clubs will see this as an opportunity to be proactive and ensure players join their club as soon as possible. What a nice way to welcome them to a new club and possibly a new town they have moved to.
