Unintended Call

Hello

We had a situation where South had an opening hand as dealer. Opposition sat down, pleasantries were exchanged, and the there was general chat (and probably gossip - we are a small club). South passes and then goes "oops" before any other bid. To me this is unintended, but awkward, because you should pay attention. Your ruling?

    I would allow a change

Although the last bit of Law 25A2 says " (a call may not be changed)... because of a loss of concentration regarding the intent of the action" this loss of concentration is NOT "regarding the intent of the action"

In doubtful cases I always favour a interpretation which allows a normal bridge result to be obtained

"pass" could be a brilliant result if the other team bid a slam and went down.
