Facebook & Instagram advertising for clubs
Facebook is an important channel for clubs to reach members, with 87% of the NZ population using this medium and, most importantly, 87% of New Zealanders aged 45-64 (our target group for bridge) being on Facebook. Facebook allows clubs to target their advertising to a geographic area (closer to the club), an age group and people with particular interests, so it's a cost-effective way of targeted advertising and a no-brainer for clubs to utilise.
Instagram is another social media channel worth considering, with 49% of New Zealanders using it and 35% of those in the target age group.
In the past, NZ Bridge has provided clubs with the opportunity to advertise their lessons on Facebook and Instagram in a low-cost way. It's an efficient way to reach those most likely to be interested in Bridge in your area to a) raise awareness of Bridge and b) encourage people to join lessons. In future, clubs are encouraged to manage this themselves using the resources below.
