Pair leaving middle of game

Hi all, would love opinions on this please:

A  pair, unhappy about the director removing a board due to slow play, threw the cards on the floor and left the room in middle of the game.

The director ( apprentice one) suspended them from that game point wise and gave 60% to each incoming  pairs after that as they ended up with a "phantom".

I would like to know if that pair can be suspended for 2weeks from any game and if so, who tells them.  The director is an apprentice.

Thank you for your input please.

    Hi Helene

This is my view (others might disagree)

I believe such behaviour is totally unacceptable
and a suspension of 2 weeks is too lenient

That it was a PAIR involved
means "oops sorry I just lost my cool in the heat of the moment" cannot be proffered as a mitigating factor

I'm not sure of the process to follow in such cases
But I would first approach the president of their home club

    cheers
    Nick

    Thank you, Nick.

I spoke with John Skippers and received some helpful advice.

    1. We simply followed the scoring protocol as outlined in the manual for situations like this, so that matter is now resolved.

    2. The issue has since been escalated to our president. If both parties are willing, we’ll arrange a meeting to hear their perspectives. Further action will be determined after that discussion.

      Much appreciated
